Prof. Tord Berglundh
Prof. Tord Berglundh
Dr. Tord Berglundh is Professor at the Department of Periodontology, Institute of Odontology, Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg. He graduated in December 1978 in Gothenburg and received his certificate as specialist in Periodontics in 1992 and the degree of Odont. Dr. (PhD) in 1993. He was appointed to Associate professor in 1994 and full Professor in Periodontology in 2002 at the University of Gothenburg, where he has served since 1981.
Dr. Berglundh is Co-Editor of the textbook Clinical Periodontology and Implant Dentistry and Associate Editor of the journal Clinical Oral Implants Research. He is a member of the editorial board and serves as a referee in several other journals. Dr. Berglundh has received numerous awards and has a citation H-index of 80. He has produced about 250 scientific publications within the field of dental implants, periodontal and peri-implant diseases, immunology, genetics, tissue integration and regeneration.

Prof. Bruno Loos
Prof. Bruno Loos
Bruno Loos is professor of periodontology at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA). Until 2020, he was chairman of the Department of Periodontology. In the period 2019-2022, he held the position of Director of Research and Vice Dean at ACTA. He is director of the EFP-accredited postgraduate course in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. Loos is involved in research in the field of immunobiology of periodontal and peri-implant diseases and investigates the relationship between oral health and general health, a.k.a. periodontal medicine. In 2021, Loos received the Distinguished Scientist Award for Research in Periodontal Disease from the International Association of Dental Research (IADR).

Prof. Luigi Nibali graduated from the University of Catania in Italy and was awarded a PhD in Periodontology at University College London in 2006. He previously worked as Clinical Lecturer and then Reader in Periodontology at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute and then at Queen Mary University of London. He is currently Professor/Honorary Consultant, Academic Lead and Director of the Postgraduate program in Periodontology at King’s College London (KCL), based at Guy’s Hospital. He is also co-Lead of the Oral Clinical Research Unit at KCL. Prof. Nibali has widely published in the medical and dental literature and received several International research prizes in periodontology and is currently Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Periodontology. His research interests range from periodontal medicine, genetics and microbial aetiopathogenesis and minimally-invasive periodontal treatment of intrabony defects and furcations.

Frank Schwarz is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Oral Surgery and Implantology at the Centre for Dentistry and Oral Medicine (Carolinum), Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University Frankfurt, Germany. He serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Clinical Periodontology and Editorial Board Member for Periodontology 2000, Clinical Oral Implants Research and Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the European Association for Osseointegration – EAO, Executive Board Member of the Osteology Foundation, and Past President of the German Association of Oral Implantology (DGI). He was awarded the André Schröder Research Prize in 2007, the Miller Research Prize in 2012 and the Jan Lindhe Award in 2017.

Dr. Serhat Aslan is a graduate of Ege University, School of Dentistry where he received his DDS degree. He attended Periodontology Program of Graduate Study offered by Institute of Health Sciences at Ege University and awarded a PhD degree at Periodontics. He maintains a private practice limited to periodontics, fixed prosthodontics and implants with focus on microsurgery, hard and soft tissue reconstruction and minimally invasive surgery.
Serhat Aslan is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Biomedical, Surgical and Dental Sciences, University of Milan, Italy and in the Department of Oral Health Sciences, Periodontology and Oral Microbiology, KU Leuven, Belgium. He is an Invited Professor in Post-graduate Program in Periodontology and Implantology, University of Porto, Portugal.
Currently, he is the board member and treasurer of Turkish Society of Periodontology. Also, he is a member of European Federation of Periodontology, Italian Society of Periodontology and Implantology and Turkish Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. Dr. Aslan is intensely involved in mono/multi-center clinical research and development in periodontology, with special emphasis to plastic-periodontal surgery, guided bone/tissue regeneration and esthetic implant therapy.

Dr. Tuğba Türk, Ege Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Endodonti Anabilim Dalı’nda profesör öğretim üyesi olarak çalışmaktadır. Aynı zamanda, Roma (İtalya), La Sapienza Üniversitesi ve Libre De Brüksel (Belçika) Üniversitesinde “Rejeneratif Endodonti” dersleri vermektedir.
Dr. Türk'ün yayımlanmış çok sayıda makalesi ve bilimsel ödülleri bulunmaktadır. Çeşitli ulusal ve uluslararası dergilerde editörlük ve hakemlik yapmaktadır. Avrupa Endodonti Derneği, Türk Endodonti Derneği ve Kök Hücre ve Hücresel Tedaviler Derneği üyesidir.
Dr. Türk'ün ilgi alanları biyo-minimal endodontik tedaviler, rejeneratif endodonti, diş kök hücreleri, doku mühendisliği ve vital pulpa tedavileridir. Bu alanlardaki uzmanlığı, önemli sayıda hastayı içeren klinik rejeneratif endodontik tedaviler yürütmesini sağlamıştır. Dr. Tugba Turk is a Professor in the Department of Endodontology at the Faculty of Dentistry, Ege University in Izmir, Turkey. She obtained her DDS degree and completed her PhD at Ege University. As a full-time faculty member, she is involved in teaching undergraduate and graduate students, and supervising PhD students. Additionally, she has given lectures at postgraduate programs at Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, and Université libre de Bruxelles, Belgium.
Dr. Turk has published several articles, received awards for her scientific studies, and presented at national and international conferences. She also serves as an editor and reviewer for several national and international journals. She is a member of the European Society of Endodontology, the Turkish Endodontic Society, and The Society of Stem Cell and Cellular Treatments.
Dr. Turk's research focus is on bio-minimal endodontic treatments, regenerative endodontics, dental stem cells, tissue engineering, and vital pulp therapies. Her expertise in these areas has enabled her to conduct clinical regenerative endodontic therapies involving a significant number of patients. Dr. Turk has published numerous articles, received several scientific awards, and presented at many international conferences including ESE, SIE, IES, BES, APEC, BDS, EDSI, MIDS Congresses.

Dr. Yüzbaşıoğlu graduated from Ondokuz Mayıs University, Faculty of Dentistry in 2003. He earned his doctorate degree in 2006 from Ondokuz Mayıs University Institute of Health Sciences in the field of Prosthodontics with his thesis titled "Investigation of ceramic implant abutments used in implant-supported fixed prostheses by finite element method". In 2010, he was appointed as Assistant Professor, in 2017 as Associate Professor and in 2022 as Professor. He continues his postgraduate education at Bahçeşehir University Institute of Educational Sciences, Department of Educational Technologies, Educational Technologies Master programme. He is an active member of Turkish Dental Association (TDB), Turkish Prosthodontics and Implantology Association (TPID), International Association of Dental Research (IADR) and Computer Aided Dentistry Academy (CADA).

Graduated in 2002 at Faculty of Dentistry at Semmelweis University, Budapest. Then immediately started to work at the dept. of Periodontology at the University to complete her specialization first in general dentistry then in periodontology. She spent 15 years at the department as a clinical doctor and tutor. In addition to clinical work, she took an active part in education and curriculum reform, mainly in the development and organization of pre-clinical courses. In 2009, she founded the Denteam practice, where she built and leads a young, vibrant team of mainly periodontists, with a strong emphasis on high-quality patient-centered care and ongoing professional training.
She is a passionate teacher with over 15 years of experience and a track record of many lectures, half or full-day seminars in topic related to periodontal therapy, maintenance, oral hygiene and implantology. Regularly presenter of graduate and postgraduate courses, hands-on trainings, conferences and iTOP seminars in Hungary and internationally. She is the first instructor of the iTOP trainings in Hungary and the leader of the trainer team for 13 years now.
Truly believes in prevention, the importance of periodontology and the fact that oral health is essential to the overall health of the whole body.
